Is Steve Jobs Headed for a New Age of Journalism?

The News Corp and Apple are currently working on a journalism based platform for the iPad. It’s known as “The Daily”, the first and the earliest iPad only news publication
. Do you think that Apple’s Steve Jobs and Rupert Murdoch have what it takes to promote journalism to the 9th degree of the online trend?
What’s So Special about This Newspaper?
Well, for a change they’re saying that the newspaper will not have any paperback edition or a proper website. The only source of views, will be the downloads. That’s how everyone will be able to get a copy of the newspaper. Every edition is going to cost $.99, which sort of makes $1 to be honest.
Just like all other newspapers, this one will also have different sections and categories for articles. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the said publications will be covering tabloid sensitivity with broadsheet intelligence. The project itself is not that interesting to look at. People are just excited because it is one of those Apple “Exclusive” contract based gigs with another company. That could possibly mean for something interesting to look forward to, to criticize and to use as well.
What’s Murdoch Stance on It?
Murdoch, like his counterparts, understands the benefits of online news media. He believes that the iPad is going to be a game changer for the journalism based platform. According to the experts, even if Murdoch gets his hands on 5% of the overall iPad population (40 Million +), he’ll have more than enough money to get the business going on in the right direction.
“The Daily” does hold promises of being the next best online publication. Let’s see how things will unravel in the near future
